MISSION & PHILOSOPHY

At Luling Elementary School, we will provide a quality academic, social, and emotional education that empowers all geniuses to be successful by cultivating a safe, positive, and equitable learning environment that establishes a community of love, respect, and achievement.

Luling Elementary School, home of the Tiger Cubs, was originally built in 1957 and serves students on the west bank of St. Charles Parish from Killona to Ama. We strive daily to foster a love and passion for learning in all children by helping them work toward reaching their greatest potential. We support all children by inspiring, empowering, and cultivating the genius within them through participation in numerous academic, social, and afterschool enrichment programs and the arts.

SCPPS Launches Full Implementation of 7 Mindsets and Celebrates Student Success

St. Charles Parish Public Schools is continuing its partnership with 7 Mindsets as the program enters its first year of full district implementation during the 2026-2027 school year. In addition to supporting social-emotional learning in schools, the partnership is creating unique opportunities for students to participate in leadership and empowerment experiences beyond the classroom.

Shona Singleton

“Your environment doesn't determine your future."

Shona Singleton teaches third grade at Luling Elementary School and has more than 15 years of experience. With a strong love for learning and the influence of a teacher who made an impact in her own life, she now strives to make a meaningful difference for her students.

Annalise Ward

"I want to be a teacher so that way kids can be smart and kind, like how my teachers are teaching us."

Annalise Ward, a fifth grader at Luling Elementary School, is a member of the Cubettes Dance Team, participates in choir, and is involved in 4-H. She is passionate about caring for the environment and promoting kindness, and she is committed to standing up against bullying. Through her involvement at school, she hopes to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

George Cunningham, Luling Elementary's School Resource Officer, is known for his friendly presence and dedication to creating a safe, welcoming environment. In addition to ensuring campus safety, he regularly engages with students, helping to build trust and support within the school community.
